As co-founder of Caliber.sg, I'm privileged to share not just timepieces, but stories that intertwine with each tick of the clock. Today, I invite you into a glimpse of my world, where watches aren't just accessories but cherished symbols of pivotal moments in my life, from the day I received my first swiss watch back in 2012.

In December 2014, on the cusp of adulthood after completing my National Service, I received my first watch—a Tag Heuer Aquaracer—as a gift from my mother for my 21st birthday. Little did I know then that this elegant timepiece would ignite a passion within me for the intricate craftsmanship and timeless beauty of watches.

This is the longest and oldest timepiece I have in my collection, which is of no surprise as it holds a special place in my heart. Not only does it mark the beginning of my journey into the world of horology, but a valuable gift to me by my mother. Although it does not get a lot of wrist time anymore, it still gets much credit for igniting a passion in me for watches that will continue to grow over the years.

The Aquaracer series, known for its robustness and functionality, perfectly suited my active lifestyle. Its sleek design and impeccable craftsmanship made it a versatile companion, whenever I was navigating the urban jungle. In fact this piece probably summed up my time in university (and doing part time photography gigs).

Beyond its practicality, the Tag Heuer Aquaracer became a symbol of the bond between a mother and her son. Every glance at its luminous dial reminded me of the love and support that guided me through the formative years of my life. Fast forward to November 2021, a month before I embarked on the journey of marriage. My mother, once again, gifted me a watch, this time a Cartier Ronde Solo De Cartier, symbolizing the timeless bond between mother and child. As I exchanged vows in December, this exquisite timepiece adorned my wrist, a testament to the enduring love that binds families together.

The Ronde Solo De Cartier epitomizes Cartier's legendary style and craftsmanship. Its classic round case, Roman numeral hour markers, and signature blue hands exude sophistication and refinement, making it a timeless accessory for any occasion. Whether I wore it with a tailored suit on my wedding day or paired it with casual attire for everyday wear, the Ronde Solo De Cartier never failed to make a statement.

More than just a luxury timepiece, this watch represents the love and support of my mother during a momentous chapter of my life. As I exchanged vows with my partner in December 2021, the Cartier Ronde Solo De Cartier adorned my wrist, serving as a tangible reminder of the familial bonds that transcend time and distance. Every time I glance at this elegant timepiece, I am reminded of the cherished memories and heartfelt emotions associated with my wedding day. The Cartier Ronde Solo De Cartier is not just a watch; it is a testament to the enduring love and support of family, encapsulated in a timeless piece of horological artistry.

Finally, there's the Rolex Submariner, a symbol of achievement and new beginnings. I initially was hesitant to include a Rolex watch as part of my 3-watch assemble, because doing so may appear a little to mainstream or have some eyes rolling (oh, it has to be another Rolex...), but hey! It's pretty momentous, read on...

In October 2022, the same month my daughter entered the world, I acquired this timepiece from my trusted authorized dealer (or more "affectionately" known as AD). As I held my newborn in my arms, the weight of this watch on my wrist served as a reminder of the responsibilities and joys of fatherhood.

Renowned for its rugged durability, impeccable precision, and timeless design, the Rolex Submariner has long been revered as a symbol of adventure and achievement. With its robust construction and iconic rotating bezel, this legendary dive watch is not only a tool for exploration but also a statement of style and sophistication. Fun fact 1: It was my wife who also got me into diving a few years ago, with her being a far more experienced diver.

My decision to acquire the Rolex Submariner (thankful for an allocation) was meant to coincide with the arrival of my daughter, a momentous occasion that brought immense joy and profound responsibility. As I welcomed her into the world, the Submariner became more than just a watch—it became a tangible representation of the new roles and responsibilities of fatherhood. Every time I glance at the sleek dial and luminescent hour markers of the Submariner, I am reminded of the precious moments shared with my daughter—the late-night feedings, the first smiles, and the countless memories yet to be made. Like the unyielding precision of its movement, the Rolex Submariner serves as a steadfast companion on this journey of parenthood, guiding me through the ebbs and flows of life with grace and resilience. Fun fact 2: One of the first few words my daughter learnt before she turned one, is "watch". Ask her where does she wear a watch and she grabs her left wrist (proud dad moment).
