Oasis on the Wrist: The Furlan Marri Sage Green Review

After spending time with the Kurono Tokyo Chronograph 3 HISUI:翡翠, a piece that captivated me with its rich jade-green dial and refined chronograph layout, I found myself drawn once again to another green chronograph that carries a similarly striking charm — the Furlan Marri Sage Green. While both timepieces hail from different corners of the world and sit in different price brackets, they share a visual harmony that’s hard to ignore: lush green tones, vintage-inspired case silhouettes, and an overall design language that evokes timelessness. It’s this resemblance — both in spirit and aesthetic — that compelled me to explore the Furlan Marri Sage Green chronograph in more detail.
A Middle Eastern Infused Design
Inspired by the serene contrast between golden deserts and lush oases, the Sage Green model draws from Furlan Marri’s Middle Eastern roots. Its dial, rendered in a calming sage green with cream sub-dials (a reverse panda layout), carries an aesthetic that feels both fresh and grounded. The use of Hindi-Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock adds a subtle yet meaningful cultural nod, making it a design that feels personal and globally inspired.

This timepiece subtly evokes comparisons with the Kurono Tokyo Chronograph 3 HISUI:翡翠, a watch I previously wrote about back in January 2024. HISUI, meaning "jade" in Japanese, also features a soft green tone dial paired with traditional design elements. While HISUI uses a mechanical chronograph movement and leans heavily into Japanese artisanal elegance, both watches share a kindred spirit — showcasing how green dials, when executed tastefully, can evoke harmony, heritage, and sophistication. You can revisit that post [here].
Modern yet Vintage
Housed in a 38mm 316L stainless steel case with “Tasti Tondi” pushers and a domed sapphire crystal, the Furlan Marri Sage Green wears comfortably and stylishly. With a case thickness of just 11.5mm and a lug-to-lug of 46mm, it's a versatile piece for most wrists.
Inside beats the Seiko VK64 Mechaquartz movement, offering mechanical-like chronograph feedback with quartz-level precision — a smart choice for those wanting classic chronograph looks without the upkeep of a fully mechanical movement.

"Limited Edition"
Released via a 72-hour pre-order window in late November, the Sage Green edition was priced at CHF 555 and came with two Italian leather straps. Its limited availability, accessible pricing, and thoughtful design make it a desirable piece for both new collectors and seasoned enthusiasts. I have since swapped the strap out with one made out of Nubuck leather from HRTG Leather and a colorway that I feel is better paired with this piece.
What'd I Think?
The Furlan Marri Sage Green stands as proof that a great watch doesn’t have to cost a fortune. It manages to carry the charm of mid-century chronographs while adding layers of cultural storytelling and artistic refinement.
